Are You a Registered Nurse? Don't Rule Out Homeownership Yet!

by Patti Gregory

Let's talk about something I hear all the time:

"I don't have enough money for a down payment."

Before you decide that buying a home isn't possible, it may be worth looking at the financing options available specifically to you.

There is an RN financing program designed for eligible registered nurses that offers some pretty interesting options.

And we're not talking about a $400,000 starter home.

Up to $2 Million in Financing

According to the program details, eligible borrowers may have access to:

  • Up to $1 million at 100% LTV
  • Up to $1.5 million at 100% LTV
  • Up to $2 million at 96% LTV

That last option means 4% down on a loan amount up to $2 million.

The minimum FICO requirements vary depending on the option, starting at 700.

Your complete financial picture still matters.

So What's the Point?

Here's what I want nurses to take away from this:

Don't automatically assume you can't buy.

Don't assume you need 20% down.

Don't assume you can't qualify for a higher-priced home.

And don't make the decision based on a quick conversation with someone who doesn't know the specifics of your situation.

Run the numbers first.

Let's Look at Your Options
